LOCATION: Online

This program is for mental health practitioners and has now been expanded to meet the criteria of 4 CEs in Ethics for mental health practice.

The change to 4 hours meets the new Nebraska Licensure requirements as of July 12, 2021. It is our professional responsibility to deal with ethical issues on a daily basis in the mental health field which is the reason the licensure board now requires 4 CEs every 2 years.  Video and audio participation are required to earn credits.

This Live Webinar will help you meet your requirements and have some fun while addressing various ethical issues, including the new Nebraska Regulations as of July 12, 2021 and Telehealth requirements as this was the hot topic during the pandemic. What platforms can I use? Will insurance cover telehealth? We will also discuss the Counseling Compact and the “No Surprises Act” which surprised most of us. Do you have questions about an ethical situation that you have encountered? Are you aware of ethical issues such as having a professional will or how records should be handled? What about legal situations? We will discuss these issues, as well as many others.

The training will offer participants an opportunity to discuss specific ethical dilemmas, ethical decision making, understanding clinician and client boundaries, legal and liability issues, limitations of treatment and self-care. We will review the ethical guidelines of the American Counseling Association (ACA) and the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC) as they relate to the issues that the participants want to address. We will cover as much as we can in 4 hours.

Seating is limited to 25 per session to allow for more discussion in a personal setting.

This program is being facilitated by Kolleen Meyer-Krikac, MSEd, LMHP, LPC, NCC. A Zoom link will be provided via email 24-48 hours before the webinar.

COMMENTS FROM RECENT ETHICS WEBINAR PARTICIPANTS:

*The best training I have experienced in many years! Wonderful presenter and awesome collaboration questions for breakout rooms.

*Not only does Kolleen provide an excellent training course, she shares extra resources as supporting evidence in which to glean more information beyond the 4 hour training session. Which is to say the training was “A Portal” to learn beyond what could be shared within our designated 4 hours. Kolleen's trainings offer opportunities to connect with other stellar professionals that care about their vocational calling as counselors. This was well worth the investment of money and time. Kolleen offered to stay beyond the time frame to answer any questions we had. It was impressive that over half of the participants stayed on afterward, continuing to glean and share with each other their professional experiences. Stellar!! I will definitely attend her ethics training again.

*I wish I had signed up earlier. This was the best webinar that I’ve ever attended.

*Training was great! Trainer very knowledgeable and personable. Made material relatable and interesting!

*I would highly recommend trainings offered by Balanced Life. The presenter is very knowledgeable and passionate about the subject matter.

*Very helpful guidance on ethical topics in counseling.

*Presenter kind and accommodating to each participant’s questions and needs.

*Kolleen always provides a relaxed and comfortable learning environment and encourages everyone to participate and interact while we are learning. I enjoy the open forum. Thank you.

*Very well presented and organized. Fun, interactive!

*This is a more personalized opportunity to interact around the topic of Ethics, which we all need to continue to be refreshed on.

*The open dialogue is a great way to process ethics.

*It was an awesome class! I’m looking forward to taking more from her!

*A good mix of review for ethical guidelines as well as new information for more recent challenges presented to clinicians.

*Kolleen is knowledgeable about her topic and very adaptive. She was able to use a ZOOM venue effectively and efficiently.

*This training was a helpful self-check on ethical obligations we have as providers!

*This training was interactive and the 4 hours went by quickly. Lots of good information some new and some reminders to keep us in line. But an enjoyable way to get 4 CEUs all at once and from the comfort of your office or home.

How to Create Your Balanced Life for Counselors Webinar (6 CE)

DATES AND TIMES: Friday, April 19, 2024 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. CST with 1 hour lunch

Available via Audio Recording.

LOCATION:  Online

Do you sometimes feel drained from helping others? Do you ever feel like you are great at helping others but are not so good at following through on your recommendations to your clients? Creating balance for yourself may not be as easy as helping someone else to find it. It is easier to remain objective when you are the "helper" vs. the "helpee". As counselors, we are great at helping others to see their blind spots, but we don't always recognize when we may need a tune-up.

Kolleen published her book, How to Create Your Balanced Life in September 2017 and will use it as a spring board to focus on counselors (helping professionals) and their unique circumstances in finding balance. Take time out from giving to others and join us for this fun and relaxing webinar (until we can meet for a live workshop), earning 6 CEs while you do it!

Webinar begins at 9:00 and ends at 4:00 p.m. with a one hour lunch break. Seating is limited so register now before it fills up!

Handouts in pdf format will be emailed in advance. A Zoom link will be provided via email upon registration and payment, 24-48 hours before the webinar.

The cost is $150 per person. (If you are unable to attend, it can be listened to later online with a short quiz to get the CEs.) This webinar meets the requirements for 6 CEs for licensed mental health practitioners. Register above or call Kolleen at 402-499-5547 for more information!

Comments from Recent Webinar Participants:

*I loved this training. It was great information to hear and remember that I too need a break.

*I’ve attended two trainings so far and loved each of them.

 *Great training, very knowledgeable presenter!

*Important to look at your own self care and priorities specifically. "Thinking about it" is ok but not as effective as doing the worksheet and looking at how you spend your time.

DATES AND TIMES: Canceled - Friday, June 2, 2023 9 a.m. - 1 p.m. CST

Available via Audio Recording

LOCATION: Online

We've had a lot of requests for the next level of Enneagram class. The new one, Part 4, is on the Passions and Virtues. "Virtues are not something we are supposed to do...Virtues are more the result that come to a human being when she has learned to hold in grace, in presence, in kindness her inner contradictions, the virtues begin to precipitate, not all at once, but over a period of time" - Russ Hudson. The Enneagram Institute says "The Passions can also be thought of as our untamed animal nature before it is transformed by contact from higher influences—awareness and Grace... The Virtues are the natural expression of the awakened heart."

For those of you who are interested, you must have a basic understanding of the Enneagram. Therefore, we are requiring that you take Part 1 before you register for Part 4.

Class size is limited so register now before it fills up! Handouts in pdf format will be emailed in advance. A Zoom link will be provided via email upon registration and payment, 24-48 hours before the webinar. One hour lunch break is scheduled.

The cost is $125 per person and is non-refundable. (If you are unable to attend, it can be listened to later online with a short quiz to get the CEs.)
