Columbus Public Library Author Fair 2022

I am excited to be going back to Columbus for this event and to be taking Devan Martin, my co-author and co-facilitator with me! We will be reading from our new book, Perfect! A Day in the Life of Ricky Rabbit: Type 1 or The Perfectionist in Us All. This is what they are saying about the event:

I’m so excited to share that we have 17 author reservations already! Please take note of our new event location. The fire station double booked their meeting room so we have relocated the Author Fair to the United Methodist Church (2710 14th Street) in Columbus, NE. It’s downtown just a few blocks from the library and is the perfect place to spread out for our event. They have a parking lot just west of the church and the double glass door entry faces that parking lot. There is an elevator to the left when you walk in if you need to use it. Their event room is on the lower floor. Looking forward to seeing everyone on June 4!

This year the Author Fair will be relocated from the new Columbus Fire Station (4630 Howard Boulevard) to the United Methodist Church (2710 14th Street) in Columbus, Nebraska on Saturday, June 4 from 2 pm – 4 pm. Authors are invited to promote, sell, and sign their books at this event.  The library will bring refreshments provided by Feed Your Sweet Tooth!

We will have a 5-minute time slot for authors to read a passage of their work if they are interested.

We are excited to announce that author Tasha Hackett will be joining us to kick off the event as the keynote speaker.

Come to Columbus for a fun afternoon!

This is a family-friendly event and all ages are welcome to attend.

Wild Deadwood Reads Author Event

The Fourth Annual Wild Deadwood Reads event in Deadwood, South Dakota in 2021 is sure to be as exciting as the first three events in 2017, 2018, and 2019. We are super excited about our fabulous new venue, the beautiful Lodge at Deadwood. And in 2021, we’re thrilled to bring you more authors, more events, and more opportunities to see the amazing sights in Deadwood and the Black Hills of South Dakota.

Our multi-author, multi-genre Book Fair is just one of the exciting events happening next June. We’ve got Wild Bill’s Days going on right in town, a basket raffle to support a local nonprofit organization, Breakfast With the Authors, a fun evening enjoying libations while listening to authors reading their favorite scenes from their books, and much more. Join us for a Legendary weekend!

About Wild Deadwood Reads

Your hosts, Ginger Ring and Linda Rae Sande, are authors. Authors who have each attended many, many, MANY book signings, fairs, and author/reader events. We learned the hard way what doesn’t work (and makes authors angry!) and what does work (and makes both the authors and the attendees smile!)

As true hosts, Ginger and Linda Rae take pleasure and pains to make every person they interact with on Wild Deadwood Reads a satisfied customer. This has given your hosts a sterling reputation in the industry, and as the authors and readers who participated in the June 2017, 2018, and 2019 events will tell you, Wild Deadwood Reads is a rising star!

Art Night at Wilshire Business Suites

Guest Artists:  Ponca Tribe

The Ponca Tribe of Nebraska has been creating works of art in a series of meetings called The Healing Arts.  They have a rich history of restoring, preserving, and protecting their culture and customs through educational opportunities and programming at several different locations across the state.  Various art forms were available weekly to tribal members and their children, family members, and friends.  The participation was joyful, very heartfelt, and always memorable.  They discussed memories and music from their past, technology, family dynamics and parenting roles, and applied these ideas to their artistic selves using painting, sculpting, jewelry, essential oils, nature bundles, and writing.  Parts of this project were displayed in the Ponca Tribe of Nebraska office at 1701 E Street.  Facilitators of the group:  Jenika Long, Mary Robertson, and Jolene John-Beckstrom.

Guest Artist: Annie West

In looking for a way to use my spare time and be creative, I started making jewelry. I found that this pastime helped me focus on something other than my crazy monkey mind. I started going to garage sales and second hand stores searching for broken and discarded jewelry that I could make into something new. I’ve made unique bracelets and necklaces that are truly one of a kind.

Art Night at Wilshire Business Suites

Join us for the First Friday Art Night! We have 3 artists each month. Our regular artists are:

Deanna Long with dklStudios

While earning my Bachelors in Art History from the University of Nebraska, I saw some truly amazing art from all around the world. Inspired by the art and artifacts from ancient cultures, I try to create unique and beautiful pieces hoping to bring the feeling and character of an artifact into a new piece through design and texture.  I use traditional clay to make pottery and precious metal clay to make jewelry.  I love how clay picks up any texture so I also play with that in some of my jewelry pieces.

And Kolleen Meyer-Krikac with Balanced Life Nature Photography.

I have a passion for helping people to create balance in their lives. My coaching and counseling business is named Balanced Life and my book is entitled How to Create Your Balanced Life. As a life coach and counselor, I encourage my clients to find balance in nature.  I bring a little bit of nature into my office space through my nature photography. I want to provide a space that feels calm and peaceful so I display my photography on the walls of our office building, Wilshire Business Suites.

Our Featured Guest Artist is:

John E. Coffey

John found a love of nature a long time ago and passion for photographing scenic and wildlife has become a cathartic release.  John has found that his avocation is in alignment with the quote from Ralph Waldo Emerson who said, “Adopt the pace of nature: her secret is patience.”  John has a web site currently under construction, but he can be found on Facebook.
